Active Property Services Management is a “Not for Profit” organisation providing housing to people experiencing housing disadvantage.
Active operates within a framework based on a set of commitments which drive decision making through all levels of the organization including the Board.
1. Active is committed to the ongoing provision of Affordable housing, supported by Property and Tenancy Management practices that:
- Acknowledges affordability of housing as a key driver for rent setting
- Ensures accessibility to housing for people with complex and/or high support needs
- Embraces the notion of sustaining tenancies as a core function
- Commits to ensuring tenants retain fair and reasonable disposable income
- Does not lock people into a poverty trap.
2. Active understands the importance of the support needs of people with a disability including those with high and/or complex needs and commits to working in close partnerships with support providers by:
- Welcoming support services who wish to contribute to sustaining tenancies
- Respecting the expertise of all organizations and promoting and supporting collaborative approaches in response to housing issues
- Encouraging, supporting and valuing open debate and different ideas as an energy source for creative service delivery.
- Operating with respect, integrity, honesty and probity and sharing our expertise to achieve sustainable housing outcomes
3. Active recognises the importance of these partnerships in achieving sustainable tenancies and is committed to safeguarding current agreements with support providers through:
- Open communication and a willingness to change the way services are delivered to support housing outcomes
- Acknowledgement of the importance role support organizations provide recognising their knowledge, expertise and commitment to supporting tenants
