Active recognizes the challenges for a service provider to conduct OH&S safety checks on a property before providing an in-home service to people with a disability. Clearly the last thing a provider wishes to do is create conflict between a client and their organisation around issues of worker safety in a persons home, whilst at the same time the organization is obliged under OH&S legislation to provide a safe work place for staff.
In response Active have developed a comprehensive safety audit service in line with the Worksafe model in which Active will conduct an initial safety audit and provide a report to both the home owner and the service provider. Active will also meet with the Home owner and service provider to discuss the report findings and recommend priority repair and maintenance tasks.
Active also provide a safety check on electrical appliances and leads as part of the in-home safety audit process.
Current Fee Structure: $75 per hour

Assessing and costing a property for major repairs and upgrades is a costly and time demanding task. It also demands a level of knowledge and expertise not necessarily found in many organisations. Active is able to provide a detailed Property Condition Report for all organizations particularly with regards Group Homes and other accommodation types.
We can coordinate the use of a range of specialist advisers including structural engineers, architects and builders to support organisations in the development of their capital asset management plans.
Current Fee Structure: $100.00 per hour

(Development and Property Modifications Advice)
On many occasions organisations are presented with opportunities and challenges in respect of potential site developments and/or the need for property modifications. This may be in relation to an existing site which a service proposes to re-develop or an existing property requiring modifications either to become compliant with regulations or to maximize its potential use.
Active can provide advice and information to assist organisations to make the most informed choice possible. Active staff have broad experience in advising organisations on possible site development opportunities and supporting organisations to make an existing property more “client” and service delivery friendly.
Current Fee Structure: $75.00 per hour

Once a decision is made to undertake a development or modification the next step is to determine the most cost effective way to manage the process. Active have been involved in a number of redevelopments and have established a reputation for overseeing developments in a positive and cost effective manner.
Services considering a new development or a major redevelopment of an exiting property may wish to discuss with Active staff the benefits of utilizing our Project Management expertise.
